Thomman (Mathulla Thomman), the eldest son of Ittimathula from his second marriage, was a hardworking, philanthropic and popular person who had done many works for the progress of the community. He was married to Anna, a member of the Areekkara Vadakkekkara family. Thomman became a famous physician who was very skilled in Ayurveda under the discipleship of his own father. Hearing about his healing prowess, many patients from different parts of Kerala and even from Tamil Nadu came to the Illikkattil Bhavan in Marika for treatment. He was a popular leader and guide among the people of different castes and religions in the region. It was with his efforts and the cooperation of the local leaders that the church in the name of St. Anthony, called Marika Puthanpalli, was established.
The church built in the land in Marika named after Saint Anthony, was donated by Mathulla Thomman. He passed away on December 27, 1939, due to diabetes-related illness.
