The Knanaya families are an endogamous ethnic group within the Saint Thomas Christian community of Kerala, India, tracing their origins to a group of Jewish-Christian immigrants who migrated from southern Mesopotamia to Malabar (present Kerala) in 345 AD, led by a merchant named Thomas of Cana (Knai Thomman).
